Stranded in the Kitchen
Caesars
Interviewed by Mike Archibald
You have listened to them on record. You have paid to see them live, unless you're broke and watched them on YouTube. I am here to force feed you your next obsession: learning about your favorite band's skills in the kitchen. Learn where your favorite artists get all of the energy to light up the stage or create a new masterpiece record.
Afrer the onslaught of "Jerk it Out" madness a few years ago, Sweden's Caesars are back with Strawberry Weed, yet another fuzzy power-pop masterpiece. It's the perfect record to show that these guys are more than a one trick pony. To prep for the album's Stateside release on Aug. 19th (through Astralwerks), the band tossed some food around with us in the kitchen.
1. What is your favorite type of ethnic cuisine?
Hamburgers. A weird ethnic minority has forced them upon the world. But not for eating, just the concept.
2. If you had to choose one final four course meal, what would it be?
Final meal? Like a last meal before they kill me? I’d rather do that with an empty stomach
3. What is your favorite food to have on the road?
Fresh and mostly vegetarian food. And a really nasty truckstop every now and then.
4. Is there any food that you like to eat before shows?
Not really. More drinks.
5. What is your favorite condiment and why?
Salt, vinegar and Sambal Oelek because it makes everything better. And lemon juice.
